Sustainability in our everyday work
Algol Chemicals’ goal is to be an excellent and desirable partner for all its stakeholders. For us, sustainability means concrete actions and continuous improvement. The Algol Group’s shared values, Code of Business Conduct and policies provide the foundation for our operations and determine the way we conduct our day-to-day business. They guide our employees in their practical sustainability work.

Responsible supply chain management
In our day-to-day work, we strive to ensure that our supply chain operates safely and in compliance with applicable requirements. We understand the important role we play as a chemical supplier in promoting sustainability throughout the supply chain. We take sustainability requirements into account when selecting and evaluating suppliers, and we assess the environmental and social impacts of our operations. As part of our supplier evaluation process, we use risk assessments and sustainability audits. Our annual target is to audit all suppliers identified as posing a significant risk based on our risk assessment, as well as two medium-risk suppliers.
Our annual sustainability targets guide our work towards a more sustainable future and our long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2045. We aim to foster a healthy and well-functioning workplace community, promote the sustainable use of energy and resources, and continuously improve the quality of our operations. We are committed to contributing broadly to the UN Sustainable Development Goals – from environmental protection and economic growth to social equality.

Double materiality assessment guides the development of our sustainability work
Algol Chemicals’ sustainability work is guided by a double materiality assessment, which was updated in 2025. The assessment identified climate, pollution, own workforce and business conduct as material topics. As part of its climate work, the company continued to systematically refine its emissions calculations. Through robust processes and a high level of professional expertise, we work to ensure that our operations do not cause pollution during storage, transportation or production. Increasing our offering of water treatment chemicals, for example, represents not only a business opportunity but also a way to support our customers in their sustainability work.
